Single Cylinder Handleset
Emtek single cylinder handlesets are locked/unlocked with a key from the exterior and locked/unlocked from the inside of the home with a thumbturn. Single cylinder handleset are by far the most popular function of handle set.

Double Cylinder Handleset
Emtek double cylinder handlesets have a keyed lock on both sides of the handleset. This means that to exit or enter the door you must have a key to unlock the door. Some people use double cylinder handlesets on glass doors where they are concerned that someone may be able to break the glass and unlock the door from the inside. The disadvantage of using a double cylinder handleset is that in the event of an emergency you would have to locate the key to unlock the door and get out of the building. For this reason we recommend the single cylinder handleset for most applications.

Dummy Handleset
If you have a double front door where one side is generally inactive while the other is always active, you will need a combination of two handle sets. For the active side, you'll need a single or double cylinder handleset. For the inactive door, you'll want to order a dummy handleset. This gives you the look of a complete working set, but doesn't have all of the mechanisms - perfect for an inactive door.

Add On: Emtek Interconnect device
Emtek offers an interconnect device as an available option for their active handlesets. The interconnect device connects the interior lever or knob with the deadbolt on an emtek handleset. When you turn the knob or lever the interconnect device retracts the deadbolt simultaneously to unlock the door. This is just an added convenience that is available, but not required.

Emtek covers it's door hardware with a 5 yr finish and mechanical warranty. Living finishes are not covered under this warranty as they are designed to change over time. For more information see Emtek Door Hardware Warranty.

Emtek products are assembled per order so when they are returned the doorknobs have to be taken apart and restocked. As a result, there is a 25% restock fee on all Emtek products. If items are returned that have been installed, used or abused there may be a higher restock fee assessed or no credit issued. Absolutely amazing product!! Solid workmanship...the door installer thought this piece was of excellent craftsmanship too. I searched for months, all new door sets these days have lever handles. My house is over 130 yrs old...I couldn't find anything local. Found this site after searching for this identical product on a Canadian website. Nice Product at Reasonable Price

The handleset was received in good condition with excellent packaging. Looks great and installed fairly easily as a replacement for the original door hardware. Heavier duty construction. The DirectDoorHardware.com web site was a great help in figuring out what we needed. .. . an a bonus was we were able to use our existing deadbolt cylinder in lieu of that furnished, thus using the original key.

Nice hardware!

I purchased two of these locksets for my house and was pretty impressed by the quality for the money. The same set on a few other sites was $50.00 to $150.00 more. They are very heavy and solid and the lock mechanism is tight and precise. The only drawback is that you have to lock them from the outside with the key.

Does the $274 price include entry set and dummy set? How about dead bolt?

 There is a deadbolt lock integrated into this handleset. The price does not include the dummy handleset fo an inactive door. If you have double doors and you want a handleset on both doors you will need to buy 2 handlesets. The Emtek dummy is the same price as the active handleset.

Does the latch have to be centered between front and back of door or can it be shifted in one direction? I have an insulated door that has a double airlock, there is a step in the edge of the door and the stop (essentially making two stops). I'd like to have the latch be closer to the inside of the door so that it isn't located in the middle of this step. Is this possible? Any info would be great. Thank you

I'm confused i need left entrance and right dummy For a Dummy ?

 If you have a double door where the active side (looking at it from the outside) is on the left, you would need a left hand single cyinder and a right hand dummy. So you would add the active set to your cart, then come back and add the dummy set.

If all you need is the dummy set and looking at the door from the outside the dummy is on the right, then you would order a right hand dummy only. That would be one complete (inside and outside) dummy handleset for that door. Answer provided by:Jake (4/29/2017)
